Sony Wi-Fi Cam action HDR-AS15

Operation of the camera is dominated by companies that do not have a history of creating other types of cameras. There is no GoPro point-and-shoot or contour digital SLR. So When the manufacturer like Sony gets to market, it is reasonable to think that it might be able to make a great POV camera, at least when it comes to image quality.

The first efforts in this category, Cam action Sony HDR-AS10 and HDR-AS15 (AS15 has built-in Wi-Fi, a-10), to make a good first impression, too. The impression that not keeping after use, though.

Can Sony tries to stay below a certain price or wanted a camera as small and light as possible. Whatever the reason, in the design and usability of Action Cam shy, both models fall above and below the price level. He said that offers some interesting features, especially if you opt for AS15 Wi-Fi enabled and video is on par with the similarly priced models, though is best suited to a small display.

In the box
Sony includes a waterproof housing shock proof and two handles self-adhesive, one flat and curved. The housing is waterproof to 197 feet and seals are resistant to dirt and dust. It's great that this is closed on the field, and the housing has a standard tripod mount quarter-inch in the bottom, so it can be used with a wide range of available mounts.

However, because housing is waterproof, stereo mix in front of the camera are not exposed, so when it is closed, you'll get nothing but muffled sound. Sony sells a package of the other two doors--one with a flat lens for underwater applications--and one of the holes of the mic for about $ 50. They are not available separately, and there is no door that comes with the housing. If the new lens cover on one of the doors, you are stuck buying another two or the whole $ 40 apartments.

Also with a fully closed, there's a good chance that you may end up the condensed water vapor inside that can fog of the lens. Sony sells the desiccant packets, but you can squeeze a small package of silica gel (such as can be found in the shoebox) to housing and achieve the same thing.

Two handles are quite large and the glue is a little weak, so you might be better off finding an alternative that you should use a tripod, or simply getting better adhesive pads. Other mounts are available, including head strap, which did not require housing. There is also a cradle with a 2.7 inch LCD screen that flips up so you can use the Action Cam as a traditional handheld camera, although one very small.

Design and features
The size and weight of the Action Cam is very impressive. Supercompact means camera 2 inches high of 2.6 inches deep by 0.6 inch and only weighs about 2 ounces with its included NP-BX1 battery (tray is enabled using the Sony battery NP-BG1, too). This means that there is less of a camera strap on the side of the head or anywhere else you are going to mount it. Due to its rounded bottom though, it's almost always need to be in some kind of Setup, when used, and although not much to add housing included its size and weight, then add to it.

Ideally this should be a tripod on the actual camera, but there is really no room for one. On the back are large record button and switch the lock, so you don't accidentally start and stop recording. The whole thing, though, is sliding doors, which covers the battery compartment and support card slot both microSD and Memory Stick Micro card.

Pry the door open at the bottom and you'll find a micro-USB and Micro HDMI port connector extension via camera stand above, and an external microphone socket, which is rare on cameras. Here's the thing, though: you may not use the external mic jack provided housing or other housing or mounts available from Sony. Basically, you are on your own, if you want to mount the camera and use the mic jack.

Similarly, if you want to use the built-in stereo microphones, you need to buy the appropriate door or other mount with Sony or find some way to keep the camera inside the case contains the waterproof door is disabled. There is nothing holding the camera from sliding out of the case without the door on it either, so if for some reason you need to open the lock when the door is on, the camera will pop right out.
