Portable Speakers

Your Portable Speakers
Everything is becoming portable these days. You can take your phones, music and even movies with you everywhere you go. The only problem it would seem is when you wish to share your music or videos with friends, those tiny speakers on mp3 players and portable DVD players are just not adequate for playing to a group. Most of the time in fact you need ear buds or phones to hear them yourself. Portable speakers are the answer to the problem and there are many to choose from.
Top Four Portable Speakers
Choosing the right portable speakers is a matter of planned use and the device you are trying to use them with. Unfortunately, as you will see most portable speakers and really most accessories period are for the Apple IPod. That being said here are the top four portable speakers, in no particular order.
Altec Lansing InMotion
This sleekly designed portable speaker was created for any dock connecting IPod. Beautiful design and thumping bass makes the Altec Lansing a top contender for the Bose customer.
These portable speakers work on AC or battery backup and actually charge your IPod while it is docked. To use this beauty without the power supply requires 8 D batteries.
Customers Comments:
The unit itself is somewhat heavy but it is about what you would expect for excellent base in portable speakers. Would hesitate to take it to the beach as the loading mechanism is exposed. The sound quality blows the Bose sound dock out of the water, so even at $149 it is a good competitive price.
Sony Impact I-Fusion
Good quality sound in a compact carrying case makes these a number one choice among many IPod users. The hard case serves two basic functions first it protects the portable speakers from damage and second it enhances the sound quality. The case also doubles as a storage area for your IPod and ear buds, which is quite handy. These portable speakers can handle any music genre at about any volume level.
Customer Comments:
After two years of use, these portable speakers are still going strong and I use them every day.
LG Portable Speakers MSP-100
When it comes to portable these little buggers, fit the bill. Ultra small with a clamshell like design for their size and price these are great little portable speakers. If you need a little more volume say next to the pool or in your car for the reasonable price of $49 you can’t go wrong.  The device comes with audio ports and an internal lithium battery.
The only downside is the portable speakers do not have a volume control themselves. You are limited to the volume control on your media player.
Customer Comments:
Perfect for small applications and works with a variety of players.
Logitech Play Gear Amp Portable Speakers
However, many products are focused on compatibility with the IPod, Logitech seen fit to expand options to include the Sony PSP gaming device. This product is styled to match the PSP and even comes with an adjustable stand for it. If you are looking to get more sound from your PSP these portable speakers can do the job.
Cons:
  • Not really pocket size
  • Cones are prone to damage
  • Weak bass
You will not be hosting a party with your PSP but you can enjoy better sound with these portable speakers. These speakers are capable of AC or DC current and with three AAA batteries; you will have more than enough power. Charge from batteries lasts longer than the charge for the player itself.
